BETTER BLIND - FRENCH EDITION
May 30, 2024
Bonjour French wine lovers and learners.
Continuing on the success of the previous “Better Blind” events, Italian and Monster Reds, we are running a French Wine event with a focus on the characteristics of major wine varieties and regions in France. Tasting blind means the event is designed to help you hone your tasting skills without being influenced by knowing beforehand the type and producer of each wine. Leading this event will be our wine friend, Ralph Vetsch, aka The Cellar Dweller. This is your chance to join him for some great wine, conversation and a deeper appreciation of the wonders of French wine! We will be taking a wine tour of the major French wine areas with the goal of having fun and taking away some of the mystic of French wines.
The format for this wine event is in keeping with previous Better Blind events at Carrera. You will be truly going on a Magical Mystery Tour of French Reds. This fun format is as follows: You will have 5 glasses of French Wines placed before you. You will not know their varietal in France or their prices. You will be asked to rate them in order of price. If you really want to take the challenge up a notch, you can guess the varietal. If you are new to “Blind Tasting”, Ralph will be coaching as you sip. He will talk about the characteristics of various fruit profiles, acidity and characteristics of the main French regions. As always, this event is all about having fun. It will be interesting to see the results without first seeing the labels.
As an added bonus, a bottle will be awarded to the person who correctly places the wines in order of price.
So, mark your calendars for Thursday, May 30, beginning at 6:00 p.m. for this fun class! The price is just $55 per person (tax and gratuity not included).
Wine Club Members please ask for your discount. Give us a call soon to reserve your spot at 904-217-4751
